Job description

IT Business Manager

Houston, TX (Onsite 3 days per week)

Duration : : 6 month c2h

Salary : $130k-$140k

Key Responsibilities :

  • Act as a strategic partner by translating data insights into meaningful business decisions.
  • Utilize SAP Finance Module to pull and analyze data.
  • Conduct SAP data mining (e.g., purchase orders, requirements) to extract and present key information to the C-suite.
  • Develop a deep understanding of business performance, identifying trends, explaining variances, and categorizing root causes.
  • Lead performance and metric tracking initiatives to drive improvements.
  • Interpret and translate Power BI reports (no need to build reports; a dedicated team handles that).
  • Work with Smartsheet (basic understanding is preferred, as this is a new tool for the team).
  • Oversee and mentor a junior analyst while fostering a data-driven decision-making culture.
  • Assist with budgeting, ensuring accurate forecasting and cost tracking.
  • Track capital and operational expenses (CapEx & OpEx ) for IT projects.

Qualifications :

  • Senior or lead-level experience, ideally in a role involving business analysis, finance, or IT strategy.
  • Strong understanding of business operations, financial metrics, and data storytelling.
  • Experience with SAP Finance Module and data mining techniques.
  • Ability to effectively communicate data insights and business impact to executive leadership.
  • Familiarity with Power BI (reading and interpreting reports) and Smartsheet.
  • Financial Analysis & Accounting : Understanding of IT finance, cost structures, and accounting principles..
  • IT Asset Management (ITAM) Tool s : Tracking IT hardware and software costs.
  • Financial Forecasting & Variance Analysi s : Evaluating financial performance over time.
  • Understanding of IT Operations : Knowledge of IT infrastructure, software, cloud services, and digital transformation.
