Work Setup & Compensation

  • Remote Position
  • Part-Time 1099 Contractor - 10-20 hours per week.
  • Competitive hourly rate based on experience.
  • Flexible schedule to fit your availability.

What You'll Do

  • Maintain accurate financial records in Unanet for government contracts, ensuring proper data entry.
  • Process accounts are payable and receivable, ensuring timely invoicing and vendor payments.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and project financials to maintain accuracy.
  • Complete month-end close processes, including journal entries and financial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with DCAA requirements, GAAP, indirect cost allocations, and FAR / DFARS regulations.
  • Generate financial reports to support project managers and leadership.
  • Assist with payroll processing and expense tracking as needed.
  • Enter journal entries to debit and credit company accounts.
  • Support audit preparation and provide documentation for government contract compliance.
  • Identify and report discrepancies in financial records.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • What You Bring :

  • Proficiency in Unanet (required).
  • Government contracting accounting experience (Required).
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, DCAA compliance, and FAR / DFARS regulations.
  • Experience with invoicing on government contracts (cost-plus, T&M, and fixed-price contracts).
  • Ability to analyze financial data and generate reports.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
  • Education :

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree with accounting coursework preferred.
  • At least three years of bookkeeping experience required, preferably in the financial industry.
  • Physical Requirements :

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
