At Houston Methodist, the Solution Architect position is responsible for the implementation, maintenance and management of Information Technology (IT systems). The Solution Architect is expected to work closely with project teams and Enterprise Architects to ensure that the overall Information Technology (IT) architecture is maintained, and that seamless operational hand-off is achieved. The primary role of the Solution Architect is to ensure that the respective application, data and technology function within acceptable parameters in support of business functions. The Solution Architect will provide technical leadership and consultation across the organization in assigned area(s).
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Active Directory specialist with a strong background in AD, AAD, Identity, and Access Management. This role involves implementing and managing robust identity solutions to ensure the security and efficiency of our systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our Active Directory infrastructure and IAM solutions.
- Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage Active Directory structures, Group Policies, and organizational units
- Oversee the integration and maintenance of Identity and Access Management systems
- Develop and enforce identity governance policies, procedures, and standards
- Monitor and troubleshoot IAM-related issues to ensure seamless access control
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance security protocols
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices in IAM technologies
- Stay up-to-date with the latest AD and AAD technologies and best practices
- Provide technical guidance and support to IT staff and end-users
- Skills
- In-depth knowledge of Windows Server operating systems, including AD Domain Services (AD DS), Azure AD, and Group Policy
- Strong understanding of security best practices and compliance requirements
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong understanding of directory services concepts, LDAP, Kerberos, and other authentication protocols
- Experience with scripting and automation
- Knowledge of identity and access management (IAM) solutions
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure
- Experience with multi-factor authentication (MFA) and single sign-on (SSO) solutions

Directs the identification and recommendation of appropriate solutions, upgrades, replacements, or decommissioning options incorporating business and technology productivity, usability, and total cost of ownership.Maintains service operations during service delivery with regards to customer communication and proactive troubleshooting.Identifies and address day-to -day continuous improvement and monitoring activities.QUALITY / SAFETY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Develops and executes solutions which further reduce the percentage of time spent on reactive work.Develops, documents, communicates, and enforces technology standards policies.In partnership with IT Leadership and Enterprise Architecture team establishes an IT Architecture practice, and the adoption of an architecture and standards methodology.FINANCE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Develops, documents, make recommendations, and communicate plans for investing in IT infrastructure, including analysis of cost reduction opportunities.Creates business cases to make recommendations regarding build versus buy strategies for updates and changes to the development of infrastructure, applications and programs.GROWTH / INNOVATION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Maintains in-depth knowledge of company's strategic business plans.Conducts research on emerging technologies in support of infrastructure development efforts and recommends technologies that will increase cost effectiveness and infrastructure flexibility.Seeks opportunities to identify self-developmental needs and takes appropriate action. Ensures own career discussions occur with appropriate management. Qualifications : EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree required. In lieu of bachelor's degree, an additional four years' experience in addition to the minimum experience required belowWORK EXPERIENCE
Seven years IT experience to include five years in a senior level engineer, analyst or consultant roleLICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS - REQUIRED
At least one high level industry certification such as :Cisco Certified Architect (CCA),Cisco Certified Engineer (CCIE),Microsoft Certified Architect (MCA),Project Management Professional (PMP),ServiceNow Developer, ServiceNow Implementation Specialist, or ITIL v3 or v4 Foundation,AWS Certified Solution ArchitectKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
