SENIOR ENGINEER

JOB SUMMARY

Designs Company water systems; prepares cost estimates, engineering specifications, work authorizations and contracts; checks engineering drawings for accuracy of design and dimensions; conducts tests of materials and equipment; makes field surveys; works with Division Managers, developers and contractors to insure that all water system construction conforms to Company specifications; provides technical assistance and guidance to Division Managers; performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

EDUCATION :

Must be a college graduate with a B.S. degree in engineering and have knowledge of surveying techniques.

EXPERIENCE :

Must have a minimum of five years' experience in water utility system design at a professional level. Must be proficient in all phases of engineering analysis and design; be able to interpret and prepare drawings, specifications, contract documents; effectively represent the Company with customers, government agencies, suppliers and contractors.

EQUIPMENT USED :

Personal computer. Company vehicle.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Skills, knowledge and physical requirements include, but are not limited to :

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Must be able to operate a personal computer and be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and CAD software.
  • Ability to organize, analyze, interpret, and evaluate scientific engineering problems and provide practical, cost-effective solutions.
  • Measure distances using calibrated instruments.
  • Work cooperatively with others.
  • neat and professional appearance.
  • Must be dependable, punctual, and have good attendance.
  • Ability to perform repetitive physical activities including walking, standing, sitting, reaching, bending, grasping, stooping, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to inspect all construction sites and water system facilities.

PROFESSIONAL OR OTHER CERTIFICATION OR LICENSING :

Must have a valid, appropriate

Arizona driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Must be a Registered Arizona Professional Engineer
