Clinical Supervisor Job Description
The Clinical Supervisor is a working clinical staff member who provides clinical support to faculty, residents, staff, and acts as a coach / mentor for clinical associates. They promote teamwork, integrity, and continuous practice improvement while maintaining exemplary service and satisfaction standards.
Key Responsibilities :
- Direct Patient Care : Provides direct patient care as a working clinical staff member, serving as a role model for the clinical staff and promoting teamwork.
- Inventory Management : Monitors inventory weekly for medical supplies, medications, and vaccines, ordering necessary items.
- VFC Compliance : Ensures compliance with the Vaccine For Children (VFC) program, coordinating uploads, reconciliations, and ordering.
- Regulatory Compliance : Ensures adherence to lab, HIPAA, OSHA, Joint Commission, Patient Safety, and other regulatory agency requirements.
- Hiring and Training : Assists in hiring and training of new clinical associates, evaluating their performance and providing feedback.
- Patient Flow : Collaborates with the front office and scheduling specialist to promote efficient patient flow and scheduling.
- Quality Improvement : Actively seeks ways to improve quality scores, customer service, patient flow, productivity, and resource utilization.
Requirements :
Education : Associate's degree in nursing or BSN.Credentials : Licensed in the state where work is being performed.CEUs : Obtains required biannual CEUs, including state-mandated courses.Experience : 4 years of nursing experience, including 1 year of nursing leadership experience.
