Job description

Our client - a rapidly scaling telehealth platform that has achieved exceptional growth since its founding - is seeking a versatile attorney to lead their existing legal team and report directly to the CEO / Founder.

This role presents an extraordinary opportunity to shape the legal strategy of a high-growth healthcare technology company while working across multiple legal disciplines.

  • Relocation assistance available to candidates outside of Austin

QUALIFICATIONS

  • JD and active membership in good standing with a US state bar
  • 7+ years of broad corporate legal experience, with significant exposure to healthcare industry (telehealth preferred)
  • Strong background in 2+ of the following practice areas : corporate law, commercial contracts, healthcare regulations, telehealth law, privacy, compliance
  • Track record of successfully managing cross-functional relationships
  • Experience advising technology or healthcare startups through periods of rapid growth not required but preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently while managing multiple competing priorities
  • RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as lead legal counsel on strategic initiatives
  • Develop and implement comprehensive legal and compliance programs to support the company's rapid expansion across multiple states
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, operations, and clinical teams to develop scalable legal solutions that enable business growth
  • Structure, draft, and negotiate complex commercial agreements including vendor contracts, partnership agreements, and licensing arrangements
  • Partner with the executive team to evaluate business opportunities and provide strategic counsel on risk management and legal implications
  • Lead regulatory strategy and compliance efforts across telehealth regulations, privacy laws, healthcare fraud and abuse, and corporate practice of medicine
  • Build and maintain relationships with outside counsel while managing legal spend and internal resources
