Kelly Science & Clinical is seeking a Lab Operations Associate for a direct hire opportunity with an early-stage biotechnology company in Seattle. Position type : Direct Hire
Pay rate : $30-$37 / hour

Overview
This person will work directly in the Operations department, reporting to the Laboratory Operations Manager, and will be naturally curious, results-driven, and eager to work in a small preclinical biotech environment. This unique role will be ideally suited for someone with limited experience working in a biological laboratory, with a desire to pursue a career in laboratory operations, and a passion for the administrative and social planning work supporting a stellar team of scientists!
Responsibilities
Lab Operations
Manage and passage human cell lines, including suspension and adherent cultures, under sterile conditions; dose and harvest cells with candidate drug compounds, ensuring proper documentation.Prepare common-use media and reagents required for cell culture and laboratory workflows, along with kits and buffer aliquots for the Talus Bio drug discovery platform.Perform routine maintenance and monitoring of common lab equipment, and coordinate / oversee outside vendors performing equipment maintenance and repairs.Track lab supplies inventory and perform the purchasing for all routine lab supplies.Lead response to lab and equipment emergencies, including serving as deputy EH&S Officer.Office Operations :
Lead the Events Committee and organize all Talus events and social activities, including ordering lunches.Order all office, kitchen, and janitorial supplies, and act as the primary point of contact for janitorial and building staff.Set up desks / workstations for new staff with IT peripherals, name tags, ID badges, building / garage access cards, etc.Be responsible for the upkeep, organization, and tidiness of all common areas.Help with travel arrangements and poster printing for scientists.Qualifications
Required :
1-2 years of post-secondary education.1 year of experience with cell culture.Experience working in a biological or chemistry laboratory (can be in college).Strong desire to support all company operations, including lab work and leading office operations and events.High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all work.Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.Proven ability to wear many hats and shift priorities quickly; a team player with a decathlete mindset.Preferred :
AS / AA or BS / BA degree in a biological science, chemistry, or a closely related field.Experience with mammalian cell culture.Seniority level
