We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Legal Assistant in Houston, Texas. The role involves working within a busy litigation division of a law firm and providing crucial support to multiple attorneys.
Responsibilities :
- Efficiently and accurately process legal documents and credit applications
- Keep up-to-date and accurate records of client credit
- Manage and respond to client inquiries promptly
- Monitor client accounts and take necessary actions
- Coordinate calendar deadlines in adherence to the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure
- File documents online in both state and federal courts
- Utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook Email, and Adobe for various tasks
- Maintain a high level of organization and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Work independently and take initiative when necessary.
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a Legal Assistant
- Proficient in Calendar Management
- Extensive knowledge and experience in Civil Litigation
- Demonstrated experience in Insurance Defense Litigation
- Familiarity with e-Filing and e-File systems
- Comprehensive understanding and application of Federal Law
