This role focuses on mathematical optimization and mixed integer programming to solve complex supply chain problems. Unlike traditional data science roles, this position does not involve machine learning or computer vision but emphasizes optimization, simulation, and decision-support tools.

Key Responsibilities :

Develop Optimization Models :

Build and maintain simulation and optimization models to address evolving supply chain challenges.

  • Focus on mixed integer programming (MIP) and linear programming to optimize inventory and reduce operational risks.

Decision-Support Tools :

Create tools that influence supply chain strategy in collaboration with software engineers and data engineers.

  • Design and implement Monte Carlo simulations to forecast and mitigate risks.
  • Collaboration :

Work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance operational efficiency and profitability.

  • Engage with stakeholders to understand and translate business needs into mathematical models and actionable solutions.
  • Model Maintenance & Data Preparation :

Support and update existing models and tools owned by the team.

  • Assist with data-pipelining to prepare clean and relevant data for modeling efforts.
  • Key Skills :

    Mathematical Optimization :

Expertise in mixed integer programming (MIP) and linear programming is critical.

  • Proficiency in Monte Carlo simulation techniques.
  • Software Skills :

Strong command of R and / or Python for data analysis and model development.

  • Experience with optimization algebraic modeling languages such as Pyomo or AMPL.
  • Familiarity with optimization solvers like Gurobi, CBC, CPLEX, Xpress, or GAMS.
  • Analytical Skills :

Strong ability to analyze complex data sets and derive actionable insights.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on optimization and simulation.
