Overview :
Xerox Corporation is hiring a PC Technician in Ashland, VA who will be responsible for analyzing and resolving computer hardware and software problems utilizing available resources. In addition, our PC Technician is required to identify, rectify and effectively communicate any issues the customer may have regardless of technical nature as it relates to customer satisfaction. This position is based out of the Xerox IT Services Ashland, VA Experience, Education, and Certifications :
- Required : Familiar with troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing computer hardware, configuration, software, and operating systems.
- Preferred : Two or more years experience with troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing computer hardware, laptops, printers, software, and operating systems.
- Required : High School Diploma or GED
- Preferred : Two / Four-year college degree or degree from a Vocational Institute in a related field of industry.
- Preferred : A+ Certification, Network +, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) Certifications, Compaq ACT / ASP
Knowledge :
Computers, Chromebooks, Multiple Operating Systems including Drive duplication / imaging, Hardware Diagnostic UtilitiesPeripherals (including but not limited to internal & external modems, sound cards, video cards, network interface cards, SCSI adapters, storage devices, memory, etc.)OEM Warranty Procedures – all manufacturers serviced by Xerox IT ServicesAppropriate OEM Resources (i.e., manuals, internet resources, etc.)Technical Skills :
Troubleshoot a variety of computer issuesAccurately diagnose and repair computers to working condition for our customersAccurately record repairs and close ticketsAccurately provide troubleshooting notes to show diagnostic stepsLabel and cleaning computers as neededAccurately and legibly fill out repair ticketsPerformance Skills :
