Job description

Apex Systems is seeking a Mid-Level Liaison Engineer to work on site in Portland, Oregon.

Summary :

We are seeking a proactive Mid-Level Liaison Engineer to join our team in Portland, Oregon. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and collaboration skills, and will thrive in a hands-on factory environment. This role involves working closely with production personnel to transform designs into reality.

Responsibilities :

  • Analyze, conduct root cause analysis, and develop dispositions for production non-conformances.
  • Apply internal design principles to assess and resolve product / process issues throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Research technical, operational, and quality issues to execute final engineering solutions.
  • Identify, document, analyze, and communicate deviations impacting design intent and safety; recommend and manage resolutions.
  • Develop and implement product / process improvements.
  • Support Integrated Product Teams (IPT) and participate in design reviews.
  • Represent the engineering community from initial build through production and post-production.
  • Ensure supplier and build partner compliance with internal standards.
  • Develop customer correspondence for the continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment.
  • Participate in on-site disabled product repair teams, accident investigations, and support teams.
  • Analyze damage repair or structural modification to ensure safe work environments.
  • Design interim structural repairs and conduct static strength analysis.
  • Develop non-destructive test procedures, tools, and standards.

Basic Qualifications :

  • Bachelors or Masters of Science Degree in Engineering from an ABET or ABET equivalent accredited course of study.
  • 5+ years of experience in structures, systems, design, or production engineering.
  • 2+ years of experience in the Materiel Review Board.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience with materials (steel, aluminum, titanium) and material forms (bar stock, forgings, castings).
  • Understanding of machining and machining limitations.
  • Proficiency in GD&T and interpreting drawing datums and surfaces.
  • Knowledge of gears, shafts, and gear interactions.
  • Understanding of material processing, functional test requirements, and general repair for machined parts.
  • Shift :

  • Ability to assist with multiple shifts, including off-shift, weekend, and travel assignments. Periodic first, second, or third shift assignments, as well as weekend or daily overtime.
  • Other requirements :

  • The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R.
  • 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
