Description

Summary :

This is a 9-month faculty position. The position reports directly to the chairperson of the department and work in the area of Animal Science in the Department of Food and Animal Sciences. The rank and tenure-status of the position is negotiable based on the qualifications.

Examples of Duties

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Responsible for oversight of poultry operations and research
  • Develop a research program focusing on poultry applicable to small and midsize farms
  • Teach two or three (3) undergraduate courses per semester
  • Develop a multidisciplinary independent research program via generation of extramural research funds
  • Participate in interdisciplinary research activities
  • Assist / advise undergraduate / graduate students
  • Serve on committees as assigned
  • Participate in student recruitment and retention activities
  • Execute any other duties and responsibilities that are assigned by the department chair

Typical Qualifications

Minimum Position Requirements (including years of experience, certifications, licenses, etc.) :

  • Doctorate degree in Animal Science / Poultry science
  • Outstanding history of publication and grantsmanship in the area of Animal Science
