Who we are looking for :

Mango Salon is seeking a experienced Accountant to join their fun, growing, successful organization to be the day-to-day lead for accounting and finance needs. This is a full-time benefit eligible position of 30+ hours per week. As an accounting professional, this position will add their strengths to our team, supporting the operations of all our locations.

Primary Responsibilities :

  • Maintain accurate QuickBooks files for retail locations and corporate office
  • Timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting closing activities
  • Preparation and analysis of financials for internal and external financial reporting
  • Maintain fixed asset ledgers and manage property tax and business license filings
  • Prepare and pay monthly retail sales tax and Virginia PTE tax
  • Assist team members with payroll administration, employee benefits plan accounting / administration, and purchasing needs
  • Accounts payable management
  • Financial management and reconciliation of inventories
  • Preparation of annual budgets and monthly analysis of results
  • Special projects, as required

    • Experience / Requirements / Abilities :

  • Accounting degree (or equivalent experience) with five or more years of increasing responsibilities
  • Experience with forecasting, financial reporting, data collection, and data analysis
  • Strong organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills
  • Strong Excel and QuickBooks skills
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Must have excellent customer service skills and the patience to multi-task on various projects; conduct research, review data and reach logical conclusions
  • Must have the ability to interact effectively in a team environment and be able to communicate effectively with a diverse audience through personal communication both verbally and in writing
  • The ability to manage priorities and workflow
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
