Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Network Engineer to join our client’s team. This role will primarily focus on Cisco routers and switches while also requiring expertise in LAN / WAN or MPLS connections.

As a Network Engineer , you will be responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining Cisco-based network infrastructure to ensure the seamless operation of our client’s networks. You will also play a crucial role in optimizing LAN / WAN or MPLS connections, ensuring high performance, reliability and security.

Network Engineer Responsibilities :

  • Design, configure and manage Cisco routers and switches to meet client requirements and ensure network reliability and performance
  • Deploy and support network equipment, ensuring proper installation, configuration and testing
  • Diagnose and resolve network issues promptly, ensuring minimal downtime and disruptions
  • Implement and maintain security measures to protect the network against vulnerabilities and cyber threats
  • Continuously monitor network performance and implement improvements as needed to meet service-level agreements (SLAs)
  • Manage and optimize LAN / WAN or MPLS connections, ensuring efficient data transfer and connectivity
  • Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure network alignment with business objectives and provide technical expertise to support project initiatives
  • Work with vendors to procure network equipment and services, negotiate contracts and stay updated on the latest technologies
  • Stay current with industry trends and certifications, actively pursuing professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge

Network Engineer Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent Cisco certifications
  • Strong experience in configuring and managing Cisco routers and switches
  • Proficiency in LAN / WAN or MPLS technologies and protocols
  • Knowledge of network security principles and best practices
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to work under pressure
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with network monitoring and management tools
  • Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Any additional certifications (e.g., CCIE, CCNA) a plus
