Job description

Job Summary

The Patient Services Representatives is responsible for greeting patients and collecting, recording and balancing payments.

Work hours-Monday - Friday 8am to 5pm

Essential Job Functions

1\. Greets patients as they arrive and manages 20-minute wait time.

2\. Assists patient with intake processes including copying required documents.

3\. Collects co-payments, co-insurance and deductibles and issues receipts.

4\. Manages cashier box and daily deposits according to company policies.

5\. Processes walk-in patients and visitors.

6\. Answers phones and schedules appointments.

7\. Manages medical records (maintains, files / scans, prepares for schedule).

8\. Ensures all correspondence is scanned and / or filed in timely manner.

9\. Processes requests for medical records release and maintains appropriate logs, etc.

10\. Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Education, Experience & Skills

  • High school graduate or GED required.
  • One to two years of related work experience including data entry.
  • Ability to type minimum of 40 WPM
  • Intermediate proficiency with Excel, Spreadsheets, Outlook, and Word
  • Working knowledge of medical office procedures and medical terminology.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills required.

Required Screenings :

Required screenings / proof of immunity :

  • Respirator medical clearance for N95 Mask (fit testing is performed in clinic once the contractor provides a copy of the medical clearance)
  • TB blood test (if positive, will need TB medical clearance which may include a chest x-ray and TB medical exam)
  • Tdap vaccination as an adult
  • MMR / Varicella / Hep B titers
  • MMR, Varicella – if non-immune, proof of current or historical vaccinations must be provided.
  • Hep B – if non-immune contractor may decline Hep B vaccination.
  • Flu and covid vaccination or declination (if flu vaccine declined, must wear a surgical mask during all patient facing interactions during the flu season)
