Lead the GIS Team : Supervise and mentor a talented team, ensuring they meet project deadlines while producing top-tier GIS solutions.Drive GIS Excellence : Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of GIS tools and databases that support our fiber telecommunications network.Map the Future : Guide network planning and deployment through precise spatial data , including fiber routes, customer connections, and service areas.Collaborate for Success : Work closely with engineering, operations, and other departments to create detailed maps, reports, and analytics that fuel strategic expansion .Streamline Processes : Develop workflows and best practices to improve data accuracy , efficiency , and accessibility.Innovate Continuously : Stay ahead of emerging GIS technologies, recommending solutions that drive the company’s long-term goals.Manage Projects : Juggle multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and ensure high-quality deliverables.Field Expertise : Visit field locations (35%) to ensure the GIS standards and quality expectations are met in real-time.What We’re Looking For :
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Engineering, or related field (Master’s ).Experience : Minimum of 5 years in GIS (telecom / fiber experience is a huge plus !), with leadership experience being highly desirable.Technical Skills :Proficient in GIS software like Esri ArcGIS, QGIS, and spatial database management systems.
Fiber Knowledge : Understanding of fiber optic network design is crucial!AutoCAD experience is a bonus.Experience with Vetro or fiber management systems is highly desirable.Leadership Qualities : Proven ability to motivate and manage a team, while meeting tight deadlines.Communication Skills : Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills – you’ll be presenting your findings to leadership and other departments.Attention to Detail : You’ll be responsible for maintaining accurate data, so attention to detail is critical.Tech Savvy : Comfortable working with multi-screen displays and a variety of tools, including Microsoft Office Suite .Why Choose Mainstream Fiber?
