Overview
Kemin Human Nutrition & Health is seeking a Research Associate to join their Research & Development Team! In this role, you will be responsible for providing support for product development projects through scientific methodologies. Additionally, this person may provide a supporting role in various research projects or may independently perform small research projects as needed by the business unit.

Responsibilities
Support other scientists and work independently in performing laboratory experiments.Responsible for supporting R&D projectsDraft SOPs and research protocols, with supervisionMaintain accurate and detailed electronic laboratory notebooks.Perform data analysis, with supervisionComplete multiple projects in a timely manner.Prepare and present research reports in multiple formatsContribute to scientific publications used for internal purposes. May be cited as an authorfollowing Kemin’s authorship guidelines.
Must adhere to laboratory standard operating procedures, documentation and guidelinesInteract with customers to address technical or regulatory questions and provides solutions to problems regarding Kemin.Maintain lab supply inventoryQualifications
Education and Experience : Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or Biotechnology with 2+ years of related experience scientific background preferred OR Associates degree with 3+ years of related experience scientific background preferred.Experience with research design and analysis utilizing bio-informatics.Experience in protein interactions, enzyme kinetics or molecular cloning is a plus.Analytical lab skills including molecular cloning, and enzyme activity assays.Ability to assess available resources for troubleshooting independently.Ability to maintain instruments such as GS-MS or HPLC.Working knowledge of statistics for the analytical laboratoryExcellent Scientific skills in experiment design and data collectionDemonstrated organizational and prioritizing skills.Scientific curiosity and innovative thinkingHandle multiple projects efficiently.Reliable and self-motivated.Good written and oral communication skills, suitable for external presentations.Ability to interact well with others in a team environment.Basic understanding of English, both written and oral.Good project management skills.A post-offer background check and drug screen is required. Additional pre-employment requirements may be necessary based on position.
