Environmental Engineer
Responsibilities : Oversees all aspects of environmental complianceSubmits reports required by regulatory permitting or agency requests in a timely fashionCollaborates with production and supports leadership to maintain compliance with all permits and applicable regulationsConducts and / or ensures environmental training is completed per DOT / IATA / IMDG, RCRA, SPCC, HAZWOPER, etc.Approves all plant CERs for environmental compliance and potential impactsActs as the regulatory liaison with governmental agenciesAssists and advises plant personnel in all areas of environmental complianceLeads investigations of all environmental incidentsCollaborates with plant leadership team and key personnel to maintain RC14001 management system; participates in audits (internal and external), management-of-change events and management reviewCollaborates with the plant leadership team and key personnel to ensure timely reporting of incidents, inspections / audits, agency interaction and sustainability performance indicators in the management information system (FOCUS)
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or Chemical Engineering from an accredited college or universityAt least five years of environmental compliance experience at industrial or plant facilityKnowledge of RC14001, ISO14001, ISO9001 and / or other ISO-based management systems preferredKnowledge of Tennessee and EPA laws and regulations (air, wastewater, waste, DOT, and any other applicable regulations) and required reportsExcellent planning, analytical and communication skillsSelf-starter and problem solverOrganized and able to maintain good records / filesProficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
