About This Role
NORESCO has an immediate need for a Project Manager, Project Structuring and Financing to research customers and opportunities in support sales and project activities for municipalities, universities, schools, and hospitals (MUSH), as well as commercial and industrial (C&I) customers, under contract vehicles that might include design / build, energy savings performance contracts, as-a-service offers, and / or public-private partnerships (P3). The Project Manager, Project Structuring and Financing will support our sales, project development, and project management teams and will function as both a subject matter expert and internal resource. This position will report to the Vice President of Project Structuring and Financing.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and understand prospective customer organizational structures, financial performance, and creditworthiness.
- Summarize in concise and actionable memoranda that can be referenced by the applicable project team.
- Assist in the development and application of financial models that reflect the internal and external cash flows for prospective projects.
- Research and understand available Federal, State and Local grant programs, utility incentive programs, and tax credits & deductions and how they can be leveraged to enhance the attractiveness of specific NORESCO sales opportunities.
- Represent NORESCO / Carrier as the subject matter expert on the MUSH and C&I markets as applicable to NORESCO’s and Carrier’s offerings and clients.
- Function as an internal consultant to Sales, Project Development, Project Management, and Operations & Maintenance teams for content for proposals and contracts.

In conjunction with the Sales Team, identify and evaluate available customer information, including annual financial reports, budget requests, org charts, deferred maintenance reports, and other informationCoordinate closely with Sales and Development Teams on approach and assumptions used in Statements of Qualifications and in Price Proposals.Review and approve aspects of financial model(s) for accuracy.Recommend and implement model continuous improvements.Coordinate with the Project Developer submission of documents and / or applications to obtain competitive project supplemental funding and provide analysis of results.Ensure timely and accurate follow-up documentation and agreements as needed.Coordinate with NORESCO / Carrier legal, accounting and tax departments on project approach.Participate in analyses reviews to determine optimum approach to project funding and financing.Participate in discussions with State Energy Offices, membership organizations (such as NAESCO, NASEO, and NACUBO), utility program administrators, green banks, state public benefit corporations and utility collaboratives (such as NYSERDA and MassSave) to understand current programs, pending changes, and upcoming programs that could benefit NORESCO and our Customers.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree5+ years of experience working for a State Energy Office, or non-profit energy consumer group, or energy project finance company, or energy and / or utility company or Energy Savings Company (ESCO)PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Financial modeling skills in Excel, including Macros.Prior experience in energy project development is preferred.Undergraduate degree in finance, environmental studies, public policy, or engineeringExperience reviewing financial reports for public and private sector entities.Great attention to detail.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
