Judevine Center for Autism is now hiring a full time teacher for our school in Louisiana, Missouri. This position is responsible for creating and delivering academic instruction, as well as social and life skills to students with developmental disabilities and challenging behaviors. It is required that the applicant obtains a SPED certificate.
- Employ special education strategies and techniques during instruction to improve the development of sensory, and perceptual, motor skills, language, cognition, and memory
- Provide coaching and modeling on all academic programming
- Implement evidence-based strategies for students with autism
- Ensure compliance with school district procedures, state, and federal laws in relation to Special Education and Individual Education Plans
- Assess educational needs and progress of students
- Develop curriculum and lesson plans for students
- Provide direct and indirect instructional support to students in a positive environment
- Assist with collection of data for Behavior Plans
- Modify teaching methods or materials to accommodate student needs
- Monitor student behavior, social development, or health
- Collaborate with others to develop, evaluate, or revise programming
- Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by laws, district policies, or administrative regulations
- Facilitate Individual Education Plan (IEP) meetings and develop IEP document
- Report progress and status to appropriate parties, which may include family members, therapists, and other professionals, as required
Requirements
Knowledge of effective strategies for young children with autismKnowledge of autism and proven skills in implementing best-practices related to the instruction and behavior management of students with autismKnowledge of Special Education principles, theories, strategies, testing, etc.Exemplary oral and written communication, using correct grammar, punctuation, clarity, and consistency of thoughtExceptional organizational time management and project management skillsProficient with computers and software (Microsoft office suite)Self-motivated strategic thinker with strong analytic skillsEstablish and maintain effective relationships with students, parents, and peersAbility to accept supervision and cooperate with change and be flexibleMust complete required documentation accurately and timelyBe able to manage the classroom despite challenging behaviorMust have Bachelors degree in Special Education with teaching Certificate in Missouri.
