Position : Research Assistant
Pay : $21-$23 per hour
Duration : Contract 6 months with possibility of extension or conversion
Shift and highlights : Lab organization and maintenance, 5S principles, and sample inventory management. On-site position with shift 1. Start time between 8 : 30 AM - 9 : 00 AM.
Summary of Position :
BioPhase is seeking a dynamic and motivated Research Assistant to join our collaborative R&D team. This role will provide critical support in various laboratory functions, working closely with scientists and engineers on research and development projects. The successful candidate will perform experiments, analyze data, and contribute to ongoing efforts to refine methodologies and improve research outcomes. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about hands-on lab work and scientific inquiry.
Responsibilities :
- Execute laboratory experiments and protocols, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to problem-solving efforts.
- Analyze and summarize experimental data, drawing conclusions and providing recommendations to senior scientists.
- Assist in the preparation of sample extractions and organic synthesis activities.
- Perform quality control (QC) testing and ensure accuracy in the data collected.
- Maintain lab equipment, organize materials, and follow lab safety procedures, including working with hazardous materials when necessary.
- Document project findings and keep laboratory notebooks in compliance with internal and external regulatory guidelines.
- Collaborate with team members, maintaining clear communication with peers and supervisors.
- Adhere to company policies and safety regulations, contributing to a professional and compliant work environment.
- Take on additional tasks as required to support the lab's daily operations.
Requirements :
BS / BA in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related life sciences.Hands-on experience in a laboratory or R&D environment, including skills in pipetting, reagent preparation, and use of common lab tools.Knowledge of scientific methods, statistical analysis, and process development.Strong understanding and adherence to lab safety protocols.Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.Willingness to work collaboratively with scientists, engineers, and team managers.Proficiency with basic computer software (MS Word, Excel) and lab equipment software.Preferred Skills :
Familiarity with microfluidics or cartridge-based devices.Knowledge of 3D printing and parts assembly.Experience with laser cutting and other precision cutting techniques.
