Located in the heart of Sorrento Valley’s tech hub, the Country Inn & Suites is seeking a fun and passionate Food & Beverage Manager to lead our team.
This is a hands-on role overseeing the following outlets :
- Breakfast Buffet – 68 Seats
- Fireside Bar & Grill – 42 Seats
- Banquets / Events – 5k sq ft
Salary rage for this role starts at $70,000 + bonus eligibility, in line with our Hotel Management Incentive Plan, and is based upon both interview and experience criteria.

Participates in the development and implementation of business strategies for the hotel which are aligned with Choice Hotels overall mission, vision values and strategies
Develops and implements strategies for achieving food and beverage goals and supports achievement of the hotel’s goalsMonitors status regularly and adjusts strategies as appropriateDevelops the annual budget in conjunction with the Executive CommitteeParticipates in the development of the annual marketing, sales, and strategiesContinually improves hotel food and beverage and adheres to brand standardsMaximizes profitability and revenue by directing the hotel food and beverage operations
Leverages system-wide expertise and resources where possible in order to incorporate best practices and deliver services on a cost effective basisControls costs by adhering to standards of operations for forecasting, budgeting, scheduling, payroll control and other expense management systemsAudits and maintains food safety, ensuring all food and beverage staff have necessary safety certificationsResponds to food safety inspections and reportsOversees monthly food and beverage inventories for supplies and maintains optimum stock levels to meet customer demand, detect waste and avoid excess expense for optimal profit without adversely affecting hotel performance.Develops and implements the menu offerings and pricing based on competition, market trends, costs, etc.Ensures outlets meet or exceed brand standardsReviews guest complaints and responds as appropriateDevelops and implements strategies and practices which support employee engagementWorks with food vendors and purchasing to maintain high food quality
Establishes relationships with food vendors and negotiates pricing where possibleAttends vendor fairs and participates in food tastingsAssists Accounting with any vendor disputes regarding invoices and payment
Communicates effectively with guests, management, employees, and corporate officePromotes Food and Beverage outlets through advertising and public relations campaigns through local sourcesWorks closely with Restaurant and Kitchen Managers to maximize revenue while meeting or exceeding guest expectationsReports food and beverage revenue, costs, Medallia scores, and prepares other reports regularly for managementDevelops and implements strategies and practices which support employee engagement

Requirements / Skills :
Minimum of three years food and beverage management experienceFood and beverage experience in both the front and back of the houseCulinary program diploma required, bachelor’s degree preferredExperience managing to brand standardsExcellent oral and written communication skillsAble to collaborate effectively with other hotel employees and managers to ensure teamworkAble to resolve conflicts guests, supervisor and employeeKnowledge of local, state and federal liquor laws and regulationsStrong floor presence with focus and energyAbility to multitask and work well under pressureBasic computer skills in Microsoft Office SuiteAble to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidaysPhysical Demands :
