Rocky Mountain Laboratories specializes in molecular diagnostics for infectious diseases and toxicology. We are dedicated to delivering accurate and timely diagnostic information and are committed to improving healthcare outcomes through cutting-edge diagnostics and a customer-focused approach.
We are seeking a Certifying Scientist (Contract Consultant) to oversee toxicology production and result certification. This position requires hands-on LCMS experience with Agilent 6460 and direct certifying experience in drugs of abuse testing within a CLIA / CAP-compliant clinical laboratory.
Schedule / Commitment
Start Date ASAP(First week of March) or whenever we find the right candidate
2-4 weeks onsite (Monday-Friday); travel home on weekends is permitted.
Potential as-needed basis for ongoing consulting work after the initial period.
Responsibilities
Manage the daily toxicology production workflow , ensuring timely sample processing and result certification.
Certify patient results in compliance with CLIA, CAP, and regulatory standards .
Guide and direct lab personnel , answering questions and troubleshooting operational issues.
Perform quality control procedures and implement corrective actions when necessary.
Assist with method validation and continuous process improvements.
Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, SOPs, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years certifying results for drugs of abuse testing in a clinical toxicology lab.
Proficiency with LCMS (Agilent 6460 required) ; experience with Beckman Coulter AU 480 or 680 preferred .
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
Ability to manage lab workflows and train or direct other team members as needed.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
