About the position :
The Medical Receptionist is the first initial point of contact for each patient that visits the clinic. The Medical Receptionist undertakes all receptionist and clerical duties at the front desk of our main entrance of the clinic.

Requirements
Position Responsibilities :
- Greet patients and visitors in a courteous and friendly manner
- Demonstrate empathetic and superior communication skills
- Display outstanding customer service and patient care
- Provide prompt communication / updates to patients
- Assist patients with required patient forms
- Verify patient demographics and insurance benefits
- Perform billing and bookkeeping functions including collecting cash payments, posting and balancing daily sheets of transactions, and bank deposits
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records
- Actively answer phone calls timely and in a professional and friendly manner using provided guidelines
- Assist team members as needed / requested
- Present a positive and team orientated attitude
- Effectively act as a liaison between patients and providers
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Understand order of urgency and time management
- Ability to follow established office routines and policies
- Understand and follow the ethics of confidentiality / HIPAA laws
- Mentally alert and focused to engage with team and patients needs
- Present a patient, courteous, neat, and approachable demeanor
- Complete required trainings as assigned by the organization
- Complete other duties as assigned
- Regularly interacts with providers / team members / patients via face to face or electronically
Position Must Haves :
Minimum of 1+ years of proven experience as receptionist, customer service representative or relevant position, requiredStrong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organizationOutstanding customer service focusAttentive to the clinic environment and patientsFlexibility and adaptability to meet organization’sEffective problem-solving skillsFast learner with general understanding of medical terminology and ethics of confidentiality / HIPAA laws.Proficient working with technology and various platforms to accomplish work tasksEducation Requirements :
High School Diploma or equivalent, requiredProficient working knowledge of multiple healthcare computer platformsKnowledge of EMR systems i.e. (eClinicalWorks) or EPIC, strongly preferredWorking knowledge of medical terminology , requiredCPR / BLS, preferredWork Environment :

Typical Work Schedule : 40-hour work week Sunday through Saturday with 3 x 12-hour shifts and 1 x 6-hour shiftEvery other weekend requiredOvertime hour availability based on patient volume and clinic needsRegional staffing requires travel within region.
