Job Title : EKG Technician

Location : Edison, NJ 08818

Duration : 26 Weeks (Extendable)

Shift :

Primary : Mon – Fri (5x8) 3 : 00 PM – 11 : 30 PM
Optional : Opportunity to switch to 7 : 00 AM – 3 : 00 PM occasionally

Position Summary : The EKG Technician is responsible for monitoring cardiac rhythms for patients requiring telemetry monitoring and ensuring accurate and timely reporting.

Key Responsibilities :

Observe patient telemetry monitoring system and promptly report any abnormal responses.

Admit and discharge patients from the telemetry monitoring system.

Run rhythm strips from the telemetry system following established protocols.

Monitor the proper functioning of telemetry systems, including battery life, clarity of rhythms, and transmitter safety.

Assist with patient care, including lifting a minimum of 5 lbs., pushing or pulling a minimum of 10 lbs., and standing for at least 6 hours daily.

Identify and address patient-specific needs (e.g., age, cultural background, language barriers, sensory impairments).

Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and medical staff to ensure understanding and adherence to care plans.

Comply with organizational competencies and safety standards.

Skills & Experience :

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a health-related field.

At least 1 year of experience in cardiology or a related field.

Successful completion of a monitor technician course at a hospital facility.

Proficiency in computer systems.

Passing score on a recognized arrhythmia exam.

Certification Requirements :

BLS Certification (American Heart Association)

EKG Certification
