Job descriptionB. S. Degree (Civil, Architectural or Structural Engineering) 5+ years of experience in low rise metal building design P. E. Registration Proficiency with AISC, AISI, ASCE 7, and model building codes Experience with MBS, RISA, & Microsoft office Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Structural design of steel buildings applying established engineering practices, model building codes, and company standards
- Design, seal, and certify projects large and small, including hangars, schools, gymnasiums, retail centers, churches, sports arenas, and manufacturing facilities throughout the United States
- Work in a team environment with estimating, sales, and drafting to define, clarify, and process projects to meet customers' needs on individual projects
- Review project plans, specifications and building code requirements
- Provide solutions to problems during fabrication and construction
- Convey design information to drafting, using written and verbal communication
- Assist sales, project managers, architects, and builders to determine project requirements and proper utilization of Behlen systems to meet customer needs
- Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with design
