Job description

As a vital part of the Operations team, the Quality Control Technician ensures that products meet quality standards by performing quality control on raw materials, semi-finished, and finished goods. This role involves verifying food safety and quality SOPs, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing corrective and preventive actions.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Safety work with automated industrial equipment, including operation, change over, and basic maintenance
  • Report all food safety, quality, and safety issues to the immediate Supervisor, Quality Manager, maintenance, or management
  • Responsible for the overall safety, quality, and efficiency of designated work center
  • Comply with all company SOPs, GMPs, SQF standards, and food defense guidelines, ensuring allergen control throughout the workplace.
  • Maintain a neat and sanitary work area at all times
  • Run assigned lines in the most efficient and safe way, ensuring the highest quality of product and optimal output of line
  • Sanitize the department according to the sanitation handbook and ensure shift sanitation tasks meet the standards set by the production supervisor and quality control.
  • Receive, retain and apply necessary training needed to properly maintain line
  • Effectively communicate information to relieving operators, lead, and supervisor
  • Carry out assigned tasks to ensure task production and quality is maintained
  • Pack chocolate as required by daily planning
  • Follow proper changeovers / cleaning procedures
  • Ensure that packaging paperwork is properly documented

Prior Knowledge / Experience

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Quality Control Technology, Microbiology, Food Science)
  • Basic computer literacy and ability to use necessary screens and systems (including SAP)
  • Adherence to Puratos dress code and PPE policies
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to read, understand, and execute system instructions and training materials
  • Ability to follow instructions and perform job-specific functions
  • Relevant prior experience
  • Completion of SQF, GMP, and SOP training
