Job description

Adaptive Solutions Group is a premier provider of information technology personnel. We provide a variety of technical professionals available for contract, contract to hire, or direct placement positions to companies in and around the Kansas City and St. Louis areas.

We are currently looking for a System Administrator I to join our team.

Responsibilities

  • System Perform routine system maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Assist in managing user accounts and access controls.
  • Support hardware and software installations and upgrades.
  • Monitor system performance and report anomalies.
  • Provide basic technical support to end users.
  • Assist in documenting system configurations and processes.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to project discussions.
  • Adhere to security protocols and policies.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.
  • 1 or more years of hands-on experience in a closely related IT role.
  • Basic understanding and familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Knowledge of networking concepts and fundamentals, including TCP / IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, load balancing, and basic network troubleshooting.
  • Exposure to virtualization technologies like VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Awareness of basic security protocols, including firewalls, access controls, and encryption.
  • Experience or familiarity with setting up and maintaining server hardware.
  • Basic understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud preferred
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to think on one's feet during system outages or crises.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal, and an ability to collaborate effectively with various teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to the platform's infrastructure and applications.
  • Regular and reliable attendance and punctuality is an essential function of this position.
