Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal and regulatory support to Beazley, which includes :
Research, analyze and communicate orally and in writing regulatory requirements relevant to forms and rates
Help draft endorsements to conform policy wording to regulatory requirementsReview and revise applications, declarations pages and policy forms to ensure regulatory complianceAnalyze, research and draft responses to state questions or criticismsInteract with regulators as necessaryEnsure legislative changes and proposals relevant to their assigned states are properly monitored, and that colleagues, management and affected personnel are advised accordinglyPerform regulatory research and drafting projectsDevelop and implement resource and training materials and programsReview and provide input regarding compliant implementation of various underwriting and underwriting support practices, guidelines and proceduresAssist in developing and implementing various measures necessary for compliance throughout the organization, including drafting bulletinsIdentify issues reportable to various boards and committees and draft synopsis of same.Engage with the technology used within the function.Research and analyse laws, regulations and sub-regulatory materialsProvide written and verbal legal opinions on a variety of legal issuesDraft agreements, contracts and other legal documentsCommunicate and negotiate with external parties (regulators, external counsel)Manage outside legal counsel to ensure cost effective and efficient legal servicesReview and sign off on marketing materialsGeneral

Juris Doctor and member of the bar in good standing in at least one stateSkills and Abilities

The expected compensation range for this position is $135,000-$145,000 per year plus discretionary annual bonus.
