Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description

You will be the Mechanical Design Engineer for the Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) team. Our team is a recognized designer, developer, and manufacturer of precision engagement aerospace and defense systems for the U.S. and allied militaries, and you will be joining one of the largest networks of engineering professionals, implementing cutting-edge technologies on both existing and new development platforms.

What You Will Be Doing

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for performing production support, collaborating with manufacturing teams, and resolving technical issues. You will work on a variety of projects, including the Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System (GMLRS) Missile and GMLRS launch pod. Your responsibilities will include :

• Performing production support and technical supplier support for GMLRS production
• Collaborating with manufacturing teams and suppliers to resolve production issues
• Engineering design and drawing revision and release tasks
• Working under the direction of a senior lead Design Engineer
• Collaborating with supporting functions, such as Stress Analysis, Materials and Processes, Test, and Production
