Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Instructional and Classroom Support
- Provide instructional support to the classroom teacher
- assist with record keeping
- preparation and development of instructional materials, and bulletin board displays
- provide coverage for the classroom during teacher meetings
- Operate a variety of classroom instructional equipment, including but not limited to computers, audiovisual equipment, and video equipment
- Work with individual students and small groups on assignments; administer and grade tests
- Check student work, including objective test materials
- Assist with classroom management plan and special events
Student Management Support
Maintain attendance, behavioral, and cumulative records and logs; document student progressAssist in the supervision of students during any school-sponsored activity occurring during the school dayRestrain or help restrain a student whose behavior is dangerous to himself and / or othersSupervisory Responsibilities
