Position : Design Engineer

Location : Maplewood, MN

Our fast-growing team is seeking a talented Design Engineer to play a crucial role in bringing cutting-edge designs to life, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and delivering results that exceed customer expectations.

Role Overview :

As a Design Engineer at HaF Equipment, you will lead the full design process from ideation to production, working closely with Project Engineers to ensure our systems align with customer scope, budget, and timeline. Youll be responsible for creating new designs, updating existing ones, and maintaining accurate project documentation, including bills of materials (BOMs), across multiple stages of each project.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead the design process from concept to production.
  • Create and update detailed engineering drawings using SolidWorks.
  • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Develop and maintain project BOMs and documentation.
  • Collaborate with Project Engineers to verify scope and refine designs for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure design consistency, functionality, and adherence to manufacturing and customer specifications.
  • Engage in research and development (R&D) to innovate solutions and improve existing systems.
  • Participate in testing and validation within the test lab.

Accountabilities :

  • Scope verification & simplification.
  • Optimize designs for cost, ease of production, and speed.
  • Maintain consistency across all project solutions.
  • Ensure functionality and quality of delivered systems.
  • Support continuous improvement through R&D and testing.

    • Qualifications :

  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and CAD software.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field (preferred).
  • Experience in machine or equipment manufacturing.
  • Experience in creating and managing Bills of Materials (BOMs).
