Occupational Therapist with Brockton Public Schools who will provide quality school-based occupational therapy services, which includes but is not limited to assessment / evaluation, intervention / treatment, IEP planning and implementation, discharge planning, related documentation, and communication between teachers, teacher assistants, related service providers, and families. Responsibilities include :
- Knowledge of occupational therapy theories, models of practice, and evidence based practice
- Knowledge in Sensory Integration theory and practices
- Ability to recognize and treat performance deficits in the areas of activities of daily living, student roles, sensory processing skills, executive functions, and written communication
- Skill in gathering screening and evaluation data, completing checklists, histories, and interviews
- Skill in effective oral and written communication
- Ability to prepare and maintain accurate records and progress notes while maintaining compliance
- Completion of thorough evaluation, including muscle tone, range of motion / mobility, sensory processing, visual motor and perception, fine motor, executive functions, and functional activities of daily living
- Develop and implement IEPs to meet the individual needs of the child
- Attend staff meetings, in-service training, and continuing education courses as required.
