The Job

We are looking for a seasoned finance leader serving as a key partner to the Chief Executive Officer, Board of Directors, and executive leadership team. You will lead all the finance activities of the enterprise with a focus in capital management, investor relations, project finance, and strategic decision making for a novel technology. You will also serve as a thought partner to the CEO and CTO on growth initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Manage project controls related to our manufacturing plant, ensuring accurate reporting and documentation of project milestones, costs, and timelines.
  • Oversee the management of financing and loans for facilities, ensuring the optimal financing structure.
  • Lead all treasury activities, including managing liquidity, cash flow forecasting, and optimizing working capital.
  • Lead the financing efforts for expansion projects, including raising capital for the construction of new facilities.
  • Manage the corporate cash and capital deployment to assure that all financial obligations are met.
  • Monitor and manage the risk metrics of the company, while also articulating these to the rest of the leadership team.
  • Maintain and assure compliance with financing agreements entered by the company, report results, and assist the executive team in prioritizing key tasks.
  • Play a leading role in initiating, advising, negotiating, valuing, and critiquing all financial arrangements the company might consider, such as equity and debt financings, mergers and acquisitions, licensing agreements, joint ventures, and strategic alliances, as well as presiding over any subsequent due diligence processes.
  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting (short- and long-term) processes in order to achieve effective resource allocation and efficient and effective operations against multi-year outlooks based on alternative scenarios.
  • Provide oversight of financial operations to include regular financial statements, income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, and the reporting of operational results as required to management, the Board of Directors, and investors.
  • Work collaboratively with key leadership to ensure that resources are maximized and aligned with the mission, goals, and strategic initiatives of the organization.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or other relevant field.
  • Experience as a leader at a stand-alone public / private company, known for its consistent track record of delivering growth and financial performance.
  • Strong operating finance skills are required in a manufacturing environment, as well as familiarity with financing and capital markets activities.
  • Strong business acumen, deep expertise in financial operations, and knowledge of accounting, financial planning, budgeting, SEC filings, and exposure to risk management and tax is essential.
  • A proven ability to communicate effectively with a wide-ranging audience, including investment banks, as well as financial and corporate partners.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's in Business Administration or advanced Finance degree.
  • Previous leadership experience in high-growth, manufacturing-based technology businesses with entrepreneurial, hands-on cultures.
  • A project finance and / or capital markets background would be considered an asset.
  • Financial operating experience within a large, sophisticated corporate and operationally intense environment with meaningful exposure to and success within a rapidly growing company.
  • It is important that the individual has spent at least a portion of their career in a growth setting.
