As the Enrollment & Retention Specialist, you will be responsible for development and implementation of all strategic student recruitment and retention efforts; ensuring that students and families receive timely communication and daily enrollment, and retention reports are provided for each program location. In addition, this person is required to recruit and network successfully with representatives from various communities, organizations, and neighborhoods with respect to the diverse populations and cultures, and functions as an integral part of the Ombudsman team in supporting and implementing Ombudsman and ESA initiatives.
Responsibilities Include :
- Providing enrollment and retention process support in both English and Spanish via phone, email and in-person interactions.
- Translating written materials and interpreting conversations as needed with current and prospective Spanish-speaking clients.
- Developing innovative strategies for increasing the recruitment of prospective students from inquiry to matriculation and actively participating in Open House Committee(s) Manage Prospective Student Visits, etc.
- Demonstrating a comprehensive knowledge of admissions, departments, curricula, and district graduation requirements.
- Providing levels of outreach to prospective students via in-person visits, phone calls, emails, home visits, etc. to support the progression of students through the enrollment; and developing and maintaining a database of interested students for direct mail and email contact.
- Working collaboratively with the department to develop community relation’s plans and promote new and on-going initiatives for student recruitment and retention.
- Creating a network of contacts with potential students through alumni, parents, faculty, and current students.
- Supervising the Admissions Process by directing on-line admissions, responding to families regarding admissions decisions, managing wait list activity, and conducting family interviews for all transfer candidates.
- Working in partnership with community-based providers and administrative staff to develop and implement programs that promote academic and social achievement.
- Promoting family and community relations opportunities through the development of policies and implementation of programs at community events.
- Representing the company at community meetings, serving as a representative of the organization, and maintaining and developing relationships with key external contacts and the community-at-large.
- Working with health centers, community-based organizations, insurers, and community coalitions to develop programs, events, and new initiatives that promote marketing and community relations objectives.
- Identifying opportunities and outlets for prospective student cultivation, including professional organizations, community groups, service learning, etc.
- Serving as a liaison with key student support services including but not limited to, post-secondary counseling, social workers, assistant principals, etc.
- Providing community awareness through communication, admissions open houses, and other outreach events to provide community awareness of Ombudsman programs.
- Performing other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications Required :
High school diploma or equivalent with passage of basic skills test.Associate's degree or higher in education or a relevant field of study preferred.Fluency in both English and Spanish, including the ability to speak, read, and write in a professional setting.Prior experience working in an education, community-based organization or administrative support role preferred.Advanced oral and written communication, organization, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem solving, and decision-making ability.Highly skilled in building relationships with students, parents, teachers and community and / or business partners.Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of staff members, students, parents, customers, and the public.Demonstrates self-confidence, focuses on execution, and finds motivation in their impact to the organization.Well-versed in the use of relevant technology including experience with computers, Microsoft Office Suite, database entry and basic office equipment.Ombudsman Educational Services is a division of ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education, the nation’s leading provider of alternative and special education programs for children and young adults.
