Job Title : Biblical Counselor

Position Summary
The Biblical Counselor is responsible for providing spiritual, mental, relational, and emotional development of Toby’s Place residents. This individual will teach and facilitate spiritual foundation classes and will interact with residents to offer biblically based counseling, prayer support, encouragement, and accountability. Additional responsibility will include developing and undertaking any counseling / therapeutic partnerships within Toby’s Place that will include linking guest to services provided by partner agencies.

Be on time and ready to work at the assigned work location on every scheduled day of work
Due to sensitivity for potential impact upon Oliver Gospel’s Program Participants, the use of tobacco
and / or vaping products is not permitted during scheduled work hours or at any Oliver Gospel event
Valid South Carolina driver’s license
For the Biblical Counselor
High School diploma or equivalent required
Female born again believer in Jesus Christ
Documented experience and education relating to ministry to women and children
Documented experience in working well with various races, ethnicities, cultures, disabilities and ages
Knowledge of and experience with a variety of tools to be used for effective life transformation
Proven ability to work independently while staying aligned with the priorities of the supervisor
Knowledge of PC-based software and relevant applications and office equipment
Position Responsibilities
Responsible for the spiritual development of Toby’s Place residents
Provide individual, family, and / or group prayer support
Effectively discern and address areas of trauma in residents
Provide biblically based tools and skills for residents’ inner healing
Document and report session notes in residents’ files
Follow all Mandated Reporting guidelines
Maintain professional boundaries and relationships with staff and residents
Teach and facilitate program classes as needed
Assist with daily operational procedures as assigned
Attend and actively participate in meetings as assigned by the supervisor
Communicate concerns and trends to the supervisor
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Make appropriate referrals as needed
Point of contact for therapy / counseling interns
