Regulatory Specialist

Overview

The Regulatory Specialist role is responsible for acquiring and providing the necessary document support for regulatory requests, requiring frequent interaction with internal and external personnel. Responsibilities include verifying the quality of materials purchased, providing documentation to external customers and suppliers, and escalation of issues when discrepancies are found.

Critical Activities

Maintains a log of regulatory requests received and those of requested of the producers

Maintains updated regulatory information annually (FDA, CONEG, RoHS, etc.)

Supports processing certification documents as needed

Communicates with producers verbally and / or in writing to request missing documents

Processes regulatory documents as needed

Establishes and maintains a regulatory reference guide for sales, products group, and technical

Ensures timely response to all documentation matters with a formal follow-up verbally and / or in writing

Coordinates with Product Managers and producers to ensure that regulatory needs are communicated

Ensures timely response to all regulatory matters with a formal follow-up verbally and / or in writing

Brings discrepancies between documents and / or system values to attention of Quality and Sourcing management

Interfaces with the regulatory affairs office at the producers and ensures our products meet the required government regulations

Interfaces with the offices of UL, NSF and other agencies and ensures our products meet the required government regulations

Coordinates with Customer Service and Sales to address any customer needs

Understands and remains current with changes in the regulatory environment

Expands knowledge of polymers and their properties

Maintains process documentation

Participates in process improvement projects as needed

Knowledge & Skills

Associates Degree

3+ years relevant experience

Good attention to detail

Proficient in business writing

Proficient in MS Office

Basic mathematical skill

Basic polymer or chemistry knowledge

Extensive knowledge of regulatory requirements
