This position will teach ACBS LAW RNR411 SP24 001, Agriculture, Environmental and Legal Issues, during the Spring 2024 semester. The instructor will be responsible for all communications with the students, developing and grading assignments, and posting final grades to UAccess.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver and evaluate instruction in ACBS LAW RNR411 SP24 001 in Spring Semesters.
  • Introduce students to fundamental concepts associated with modern day agricultural industries to help them understand legal concepts as well as public policy that affects the commodities markets, natural resources in their \"raw form\", consumer attitudes, and market forces that affect various agribusiness industries of the west.
  • Provide instruction in four (4) primary areas : 1.) Animal welfare, law and policy, 2) Food safety regulations and organic growing standards in production agriculture and organic livestock standards, 3.) An overview of Environmental law, policy and 4.) Water law and policy. These areas will allow students to be able to demonstrate how science, law and policy impact the modern-day agriculturist as well as natural resource users.

Minimum Qualifications

  • JD from ABA Accredited Law School
  • 5 years of law practice in related fields of practice
  • 3 years of teaching at university level
