Kelly is hiring a Assistant Lab Technician for one of our biotechnology clients in West Sacramento, CA
- M-F 8am-5pm
- This position is for a sample Receiving and Accessioning Technician in our lab's Operations team
- Pay : $18.50 / hr
- 12 month contract (may be extended / converted)
Responsibilities
Receiving and Accessioning TechnicianProper handling of received specimensPrepare specimens for laboratory testingData entry and QC of sample information in a LIMS, as well as scanning documents to support testing.Review of test requisition forms and or shipment manifests to ensure documentation matches samples received. Knowledge of how to resolve sample and document discrepancies. Work with other team members to collect information as needed.Ensure customer satisfaction throughout laboratory processingFacilitate specimens to the appropriate workflows for downstream testing.Primary customer contact for all laboratory tests; clinical, pharma and clinical trial testing.Ensure all customer needs are met from kit and sample delivery to final reporting and end of testing deliverables.Maintain a complaint log documenting any customer issues and notify leadership of all perceived issues and complaints.Ensure that policies and procedures in area of responsibility reflect current practice.Maintain accurate logs representing current samples in for testingPerform quality checks on all deliverables to customers. Partner with other employees to ensure a second QC check when required.Support of incoming and outgoing sample shipments.Training other personnel as required.Qualifications and Experiences :
Education : High School diploma, Associates (AA or AS) degree is strongly preferred.1+ year experience equivalent to an Accessioning Technician; or equivalent combination of education and experience in related field.Minimum of 2 years Customer Service experience requiredSkills
Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills, such as : word processing, Excel and information systemsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong understanding of regulatory compliance and HIPAAKnowledge of working with potentially biohazardous specimensKnowledge of medical terminologyPositive can-do attitude and the ability to adapt and be flexible in a fast-paced and evolving work environment
