Salary

USD $130,000.00 - USD $140,000.00 / Yr.

Role Overview

The Finance Director acts as the financial leader, overseeing all aspects of financial management including payroll, budgeting, and forecasting. This position requires exceptional leadership skills to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting for both hotel leadership and our home office. You'll be responsible for implementing robust internal controls to protect the organization while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.

Responsibilities :

  • Support departmental operations by identifying potential risks and offering solutions aligned with financial interests.
  • Develop and execute the annual operating budget and financial goals to achieve specified revenues and controls.
  • Establish priorities and key objectives for each department, ensuring successful implementation through follow-ups.
  • Prepare monthly forecasts and provide guidance to department heads to meet financial targets.
  • Review monthly financial statements to correct issues and monitor spending to plan future needs effectively.
  • Foster a positive work environment to enhance team morale and loyalty, reducing turnover.
  • Conduct performance appraisals and personal development plans for management staff, addressing areas for improvement.
  • Ensure all hotel management possess the necessary experience and knowledge to meet job requirements.
  • Oversee sales activities, evaluating individual productivity and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Actively participate in sales efforts and collaborate closely with the sales department.
  • Supervise payroll duties and ensure timely completion of payroll processes.
  • Qualifications

    Education / Formal Training :

    A four-year college degree (preferred in accounting) or equivalent education / experience.

    Experience :

    A minimum of 3 years in a related finance position, with supervisory and leadership experience required.

    Knowledge / Skills :

  • Knowledge of all hotel accounting functions performed by direct or indirect reports.
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting, finance, and hospitality fields.
  • Ability to analyze activities or information and derive logical conclusions.
  • Experience with office management, cash handling, bank reconciliations, and report preparation.
  • Strong communication skills for engaging with hotel ownership as needed.
  • Physical Demands :

    Physical requirements include limited lifting (up to 15-20 lbs), minimal bending / kneeling, and limited mobility. Excellent hearing and vision are necessary for training and report analysis.
