Connecting to these values, the Admissions Counselor, under the direction of the Director of Admissions and in collaboration with the Strategic Enrollment Management Associate Dean, is charged with increasing student enrollment at Lansing Community College (LCC) through implementation of the annual strategic enrollment management plan.
This position will cultivate relationships and partnerships with middle schools, high-schools, community organizations, first generation students, Black Indigenous People of Color (BIPOC), businesses, and other market segments, for the purpose of recruiting traditional and non-traditional prospective students for admission to LCC. Through collaboration with other departments and programs at LCC, Admissions Counselors will ensure continuity of service throughout the enrollment process.
Admissions Counselors represent the College at community events and are responsible for establishing, coordinating, and implementing college recruitment and enrollment related programs designed to enhance a student-centered approach to service. Programs may include activities such as : College Day & Night programs, open houses, in-school orientation, College Fairs, welcome events, and other events at assigned high-schools and other community partners.
This position will primarily recruit adult learners.
Admissions Counselors are expected to reflect and advance the College’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Required Qualifications :
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated experience promoting or marketing programs or organizations.
Demonstrated experience working with at-risk, first generation, and other diverse populations.
Ability to travel and maintain a valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications :
Recruiting experience for an educational institution.
Experience working in Student Affairs in higher education.
Bi-lingual
Demonstrated experience with data analysis.
Excellent oral, written, public speaking and presentation skills.
