DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Review and process asset capitalization requests, ensuring compliance with Microsoft policies, accounting standards, and Costa Rica's Free Trade Zone regime.
Determine which assets should be capitalized based on defined thresholds and useful life criteria, in compliance with Microsoft guidelines.
Manage the capitalization process, including timely entry of assets into Microsoft's system (within 90 days of being placed in service), following Microsoft's guidelines and processes.
Ensure proper classification of costs as either capital or expense, including direct and indirect costs.
Coordinate with and advise the project managers, IFM FTZ team, and finance teams to gather necessary information for asset capitalization.
Monitor and manage Construction Work in Progress (CWIP) accounts.
Ensure gathering of correct and complete documentation : PO, DUA, Invoices when applicable. Upload documents as indicated by the IFM team.
Coordinate with IFM FTZ team to ensure that asset master data is correct in compliance with local regulations.
Stay updated on company capitalization policies and relevant accounting standards.
Prepare reports on capitalized assets and provide analysis as needed, in the format requested by the IFM FTZ team.
KEY PERFORMANCE MEASURES
Accuracy and timeliness of asset capitalization and disposal.
Compliance with Free Trade Zone regulations and Microsoft policies
Quality of reports and analysis provided
Effectiveness in coordinating with various teams and stakeholders
Successful management of CWIP accounts if applicable.
Academic / Experience
High school or technical degree, preferably with studies in business administration, accounting, and / or finance.
Advanced English skills, both written and spoken.
Strong proficiency in MS Office, Excel and SAP.
3 year of experience in related positions. (Finance, accounting, Project management)
