Virginia Wesleyan University's Office of Residence Life is seeking candidates for the Assistant
Director of Residence Life. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who is motivated,
creative, reliable, and passionate about student engagement and success. Dedication and proven
ability to handle crisis and emergency situations is necessary. This person reports to the Director
of Residence Life and provides support for the entire Residence Life staff and campus
community.
This live-in staff position is at the heart of our residential experience, shaping the lives of
students and supporting their personal and academic growth. The Assistant Director plays a key
role in supervision and leadership of graduate and undergraduate student staff, participates in an
administrative on-call duty rotation, engages in community development and programming, has
oversight of the disciplinary process for student conduct and accountability, works closely with
campus partners to enhance student success and well-being, and much more.
