Development and implementation of improvements related to safety, quality, service, and costDriving cost and productivity improvements by leading continuous improvement projects or capital investment projects with a variety of toolsets, including standard work development, tier reviews and kaizensDevelopment and implementation of cross-functional projects, plans, and programs in support of business and strategic plans that could include new process start-ups, new process technology integration, Process and product optimization and supply chain improvement using Continuous Improvement toolsProactively communicates project direction and status to appropriate personnelEngagement and involvement in daily operations to meet service targets, including direction / support of maintenance and division engineering activitiesFlexible to provide support across different shifts of manufacturing operations as needed.Realize growth opportunities by guiding new product introduction efforts and completing experimental runsRepresenting 3M Springfield during internal and external customer interactions and auditsYour Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree or higher in an engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start)Five (5) years of combined experience in project engineering, process engineering, manufacturing engineering, manufacturing technology, product development, quality experience in a private, public, government or military environmentAdditional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include :
Master's degree or higher from an accredited universityBachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Industrial Engineering from an accredited institutionTen (10) years in one or more of the following areas : manufacturing engineering, process engineering, product engineering, and / or product development in a private, public, government or military environmentExperience in leading multi-functional teams through complex projects from planning to completionExperience in supporting new product development and commercialization.Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.Excellent communication skills (oral, written and presentation)Experience in chemical processing, coating and converting or Aerospace IndustrySelf-starter / self-directed that leads with high energy and passion.Location : Springfield, MO
Travel : May include up to 10% domestic and / or international
