Job description

job summary : Responsibilities :

Key Responsibilities :

  • Maintain and update financial records for the firm, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Prepare and process invoices, expense reports, and payments.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure financial stability.
  • Assist with the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and financial reports.
  • Handle payroll processing and ensure compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
  • Manage trust accounts and ensure compliance with state bar regulations.
  • Liaise with external auditors and provide necessary documentation and support.
  • Ensure adherence to accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Assist with special projects and financial analysis as needed.

Qualifications :

  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper in the legal industry.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel.
  • Understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Experience with legal trust accounting and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
  • Skills : Legal Billing, Real estate closing , Trust & Estate, Legal - Advertising, Financial Statements, General Ledger, Bank Reconciliations, Accounts Receivable, Legal Finance Experience : Experienced3 year(s)
