Overview

Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced Marine Shipfitters for projects located in and around San Diego, CA . This is a full time opportunity with a pay rate of up to $27-41 / hour based on experience and skill level. Job Scope :

  • Assemble, cut and grind metal structural parts including; plates, bulkheads, strong backs, turnbuckles and come-along
  • Align parts in relation to each other
  • Tack and weld foundation and structural members
  • Perform layout work according to blueprints or reference lines
  • Mark location of holes to be drilled
  • Drive wedges and install temporary fasteners to hold part in place for welding
  • Perform other related tasks assigned

Responsibilities

  • Must have OSHA 10, Maritime and Fire Watch Certifications
  • Must have respirator fit testing completed and be certified
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening and background check
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience
  • T1 welding certificate
  • Must pass a vision test
  • Must be able to pass hands on assessment test
  • Must be able to work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Must be able to work any and all shifts
  • Must comprehend written and verbal instructions in English
