Wendel is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated professional to join our Energy Practice Area as an Energy Engineer in our Hauppauge, NY Office. This individual will support the Energy groups many different project types while working in a team environment. Providing energy calculation support, field verification and data collection of existing building energy systems and development of energy assessment reports and studies.

Responsibilities :

  • Data Collection
  • Utility Bill Disaggregation
  • Field Visits
  • Energy Calculations
  • Develop Energy Measure Descriptions and scope of work packages
  • Work with design team
  • Support construction and Sales
  • Ability to work on and prioritize multiple projects
  • Collaboration with Project Managers and other Engineers
  • Development of measurement & verification (M&V) plans
  • Produce annual M&V reports
  • QA / QC

Qualifications :

  • 0 to 5 years of relevant experience in technical areas (i.e., lighting, HVAC, solar, other renewables).
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Energy Management, or related field.
  • Certified Energy Manager in Training (CEM IT) or other industry related certifications a plus.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software required.
  • Building modeling experience, a plus.
  • Hands on HVAC and commissioning / retro-commissioning a plus.
  • Ability to complete multiple tasks on multiple projects.
  • QA / QC of your own assigned tasks and projects.
  • Ability to support construction activities during implementation.
  • Experience working on energy audits and or energy related construction projects a huge plus.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal staff and clients.
  • Some Travel is required (around 10%).

  • Salary Range : $65,000 - $89,000

Salary offered will be determined based the successful candidates' relevant education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The salary offered will also take into consideration regional adjustment factors.
