GENERAL INFORMATION Title : Substitute Nurse Department : Student Services Salary Grade : Substitute Pay Schedule

FLSA Status : Exempt Site / Location : Student Services

Reports to : Director Date : 09 / 14 / 2023 POSITION SUMMARY

  • To assist with health services, and provide leadership in establishing a complete and effective program of school health.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Interpret the school health services to school personnel and students.
  • Maintain the school medical clinic and administers medication according to school board policy.
  • Administer screening program as required by Virginia school law and school board policy.
  • Assist in the provision of support services to students with disabilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the division's school nurse coordinator and / or building administrator.

  • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Must have a valid state license as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse to practice professional nursing in Virginia.
  • Two (2) years nursing experience, preferably in community health.
  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

  • TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Reliable transportation is necessary.
  • Travel within the City of Lynchburg as needed.
