About the Role :

As our Fleet Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation and safety of our fleet. Your responsibilities will include :

  • Fleet Scheduling & Administration : Efficiently manage fleet maintenance schedules, assist with troubleshooting, and keep operations personnel informed about vehicle availability.
  • Team Leadership : Supervise, plan, and direct the work of all shop personnel, ensuring high standards of performance and safety.
  • Maintenance Oversight : Direct and participate in unscheduled repairs and oversee the preventative maintenance program to keep our equipment in peak condition.
  • Inventory Management : Maintain accurate fleet inventory and condition reports, manage parts inventory, and use our inventory software effectively.
  • Compliance & Safety : Ensure adherence to DOT, OSHA, and EPA regulations, and keep up-to-date with safety and compliance standards.
  • Purchasing : Assist in the procurement of new vehicles, equipment, and tools within budgetary constraints.
  • Leadership / Action team : Actively engage and participate in the growth, setting of priorities and the goals of Municipal Pipe Tool.

Requirements

Qualifications & Skills :

  • Education : Associate's Degree in Business Management or equivalent experience.
  • Experience : Minimum 2+ years of hands-on mechanical supervisory experience and 2-4 years in fleet and / or fixed asset management.
  • Technical Knowledge : Proficiency in diagnostics including power train, electrical, hydraulics, and experience with reefers is a plus.
  • Communication Skills : Strong written and verbal communication abilities are essential.
  • Physical Requirements : Ability to lift 20 to 70 lbs and hold a valid Class C driver license. Must be able to obtain a Class B CDL within 6 months of hire.
  • Personal Attributes : Motivated self-starter, quick learner with initiative and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
