Audit Manager, Credit Risk

Lewis James Professional is a woman-owned staff augmentation, project consulting and direct hire search and placement firm. We are currently seeking a Audit Manager of Credit Risk for a direct hire opportunity with a financial services client.

Responsibilities :

  • The Audit Manager of Credit Risk will lead planning, scoping, and development of the audit test plan related to commercial and consumer credit risk.
  • Conduct comprehensive audits of both commercial and consumer loan portfolios, focusing on the credit underwriting process and centralized lending activities
  • Evaluate loan review processes and ensure adherence to company policies, regulatory requirements, and best practices to demonstrate awareness of big picture issues.
  • Evaluate associated risk profiles to help ensure appropriate audit coverage.
  • Oversee the audit and reporting of credit risk metrics, including commercial risk P&Ps and commercial management reporting.
  • The Audit Manager of Credit Risk will review ORE (Other Real Estate) and CRE (Commercial Real Estate) valuations as part of credit risk assessments.
  • Provide leadership to new and junior team members through effective project feedback, and clear performance expectations.
  • Expand and maintain knowledge of auditing and use of data analysis techniques.
  • Keep abreast of current trends, developments, technologies and practices in the auditing profession and banking industry, and pursue continuing education and certifications.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business or related field, or equivalent education and related training or experience.
  • 8 - 10 years of experience in audit, ideally a role similar to an Audit Project Leader.
  • Advanced knowledge, ability and expertise in audit, banking and financial services.
  • Deep understanding of credit risk reporting, portfolio credit administration, loan reviews, and various compliance activities related to credit management.
  • Exceptional understanding of risk management.
  • Extensive knowledge of commercial and consumer credit risk, loan review processes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with credit risk models and portfolio management practices, particularly in the context of CECL and credit risk ratings.
  • Appropriate professional certification, such as, but not limited to Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Information Systems Auditor, or Certified Public Accountant.
  • Advanced degree preferred.
